City Parks

The City of Rossford is very proud of their park facilities. The park offers a wide variety of leisure activities for everyone. The Public Works Department assists the Recreation Department with daily maintenance and all parks are clean and beautifully landscaped.  For more information on Park facilities contact the Rossford Recreation Department at 419-666-2905.

Beech Street Park

Beech Street Park is located on Beech Street in Rossford. It is geared for baseball and softball between the ages of 5 and 10. The park is equipped with a batting cage, concession stand, restrooms, two play areas, tennis courts, ball diamond w/ enclosed dugouts, basketball court and small picnic area. There is plenty of parking adjacent to the park.

Edward Ford Memorial

The memorial at the corner of Dixie Highway and Elm Street was built for the city’s Centennial Celebration in 1998 and named in honor of Mr. Ford, the founder of Rossford.

Island View Park

Island View Park is a hidden treasure in the City of Rossford. The park is located on (Rt. 65) Dixie Highway just past Lime City Rd. on the right hand side of the highway. The park sets on the Maumee River and is equipped with a 1.1 mile jogging / walking / exercise course. Evenly divided throughout the course are 16 exercise stations for individuals wanting a more challenging workout. The natural atmosphere of Island View Park allows you to enjoy your workout or just relax on a bench.

Veteran’s Memorial Park & Marina

Veterans Memorial Park sets on the Maumee River and offers boating, fishing, ball diamond w/dugouts, tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball, outdoor grills, picnic shelters, covered picnic tables by the river and evening concessions May - October.

W.W. Knight Nature Preserve

W.W. Knight Nature Preserve is a part of the Wood County Park District. It is located in close proximity to the City of Rossford. It is located on White Road off of Rt. 65 or River Road in Perrysburg Township.

Donated by the family of the late William Windus Knight, this 44-acre preserve offers hiking trails and boardwalks through various natural areas including wetland, remnant swamp woods and native prairie. The pond offers family fishing opportunities. Opened in 2005, the Nature Center at the preserve offers various educational opportunities including a Lookout on Nature Area (LOONA), perfect for bird watching.

J.C. Reuthinger Memorial Preserve

Donated to the Park District in 2005 by the late Lucille Reuthinger Knepper. The preserve is the location for the stewardship department, a greenhouse and native plant nursery.

Cedar Creeks Preserve

A mix of wet woods and grasslands, this 42-acre preserve features hiking trails allowing visitors to see a remnant Black Swamp woods, playground and picnic area.  Spring wildflowers are a seasonal feature.
