What You Need To Know
It goes without saying that these are unprecedented times in our industry as countries around the world attempt to understand and respond to the challenges of Coronavirus/COVID-19. Events from small to large are being canceled daily as a precaution to combat the spread of the virus.
The Rossford Convention & Visitors Bureau is committed to being proactive in dealing with event cancellations and serving as an information resource for our Rossford Tourism Industry partners.
During uncertain times, it is easy to give way to anxiety and worry. We encourage you to seek facts over fear, and as such we would like to provide everyone with the information and resources needed to understand what is going on and what they can do to stay healthy. It is imperative that we all remain informed and stay calm.
While it is obvious that COVID-19 poses an economic challenge for our community, the most important thing to remember is the threat it poses to immune-compromised individuals and the elderly. It is the responsibility of every citizen to be cautious of our actions and aware of our surroundings and the state of our own health. For individuals who may not be at risk, they can still expose others.

Please note the following important updates from United Way:
· Currently, United Way 2-1-1 is taking meal pack reservations for students on behalf of Toledo Public Schools and their eight meal-site locations, as well as Connecting Kids to Meals’ 15 meal-site locations. We are actively uploading information into our 2-1-1 database on other school districts across Lucas, Wood and Ottawa County who are offering meal programming.
· In addition to the information above, United Way will also be assembling weekend snack packs to be distributed on Fridays at various Connecting Kids to Meals locations, on top of the meals they’re receiving throughout the week. United Way is currently looking for volunteers to assemble these bags, as well as help serve at one of their 15 meal-sites. If you are looking to offer assistance, visit “FeedToledoKids.org” and sign up for a shift today. These shifts do have strict volunteer capacities and we will take all measures necessary to keep sites clean and healthy for those attending.
· Lastly, United Way has recently created a “United Way Emergency Response Fund, 2020” which will help cover future costs for community needs. See the “designate” drop-down on our donate page to give directly to this cause. For example, we are expecting to distribute 10,000-12,000 snack bags over the course of three weekends alone, which total $35,000-$42,000. Several community institutions have stepped-up to cover these costs, but, if school closures continue, we will need your help. Also, let us not forget that food is just one of the many pieces COVID-19 is impacting in the health and human services space. Our other partners in basic needs, health, education and financial stability may have emerging requests the community, and this fund, can assist with.
